'Google Doodle' a strategic weapon
Ever wondered why Google is a memorable brand. Well,
definitely it’s the kind of service and products they have, but there is more
to it. When a company comes to life, it comes with the purpose to serve its
customers, but as it grows its responsibilities to grow.
Among which is the most important is Corporate Social Responsibility.
This is a crucial responsibility where in companies need to take care of its
branding along with the concern towards the society at large. Various firms
have several ways of doing CSR activities, but Google does it in a smart way;
which not only gives out a message to people, but creates brand awareness too.
Can you guess what it is? Not to be denied, it is “Doodle”.
Doodle a very creative way of portraying vital messages. Take the example of
latest Doodle celebrating the ‘Earth day’. It resembled the earth along with green
coloured sphere and included a ‘Bee’ too.
Planet Earth includes the complete nature and the living organisms
on it. This time the company included a ‘Bee’ marking the importance of it
indirectly to this beautiful planet.
The Doodle has been a perfect strategy for Google. If you
ask me what the benefits of this are:

Brand awareness & Employee engagement: Introduction
of creating doodles engages the employees in bringing out their creativity at
the best and such creative interactive doodles catches the attention of its
customers across all ages, making them memorable. It also holds the doodling
competition engaging the kids and nurturing their creative skills.

Message to society at large: The doodle such as
Happy Earth Day not only grabbed attention but also created an awareness of
conserving the Bee’s and pictured their significance in the nature.

Perfect branding/marketing strategy: Doodle has
been their ultimate strategic weapon. Google is lucky to have this found, as
they do not have to do advertising with pop up ads unlike other companies.

Easily adaptable: Google has been able to grab
customers across the globe with variety of products and services they provide.
Adapting and developing the doodles occasion specific gives it an added
advantage, especially with country like India.
5. Visibility: Advertising costs are cut down tremendously, as the logo is strategically placed on the browser page.
Other
companies need to note this strategy and not copy but think on these lines,
whenever they think of developing a strategy.
